Oral motor skills and the production of /r/

agagestandstages.net is a fantastic source for all things oral motor and feeding.

Diane Bahr’s book Nobody Ever Told Me (or My Mother That) is a great handbook for supporting infant feeding, feeding struggles and picky eaters.

Diane believes, as do I, that oral motor and oral sensory deficits are the source of many feeding and speech issues. Recently, she asked me to write a blog about how I use oral motor techniques to work with a student with an error to /r/. I treated this student via teletherapy as he resides in a different country from me.
